I was shocked to open my mailbox and find this month’s beauty box last week. My Vegan Cuts boxes usually come the last week of the month. I hadn’t even received my tracking e-mail before the package came!
May’s box included:
Everclen Facial Toner- RV $15
Terre Mère Cosmetics Blush Brush- RV $34
The Granola Goat The Amazing Face Face Serum- RV $4
Medusa’s Makeup Lip Gloss in Siren- RV $9
Molly Rose Balms Grapefruit Basil Body Scrub- RV $2
I’ve been using, (and enjoying), the Everclen Eye Cream included in the March Vegan Cuts Beauty Box, so I was happy to see another product from the company among this month’s selection. The Facial Toner is fragrance-free, hydrating and good for sensitive skin. When I first sprayed it on my face, I immediately thought that it smelled highly of Chloraseptic throat spray. The smell goes away quickly as the toner absorbs. After using the toner for a week, I have to say that I like it. I’ll probably continue to purchase my normal toner, but this product is a nice change.
I LOVE getting brushes in beauty boxes. The Terre Mère Cosmetics Blush Brush is super soft and pretty dense. The synthetic hair bristles are on an angle, which I feel makes it great for contouring. When I tried this brush with blush, I noticed how defined the application is. I prefer brushes that provide a more diffused look. To me, this brush is perfect for powder highlighter. I’ve been using the little brush that came in the highlighter compact and this Terre Mère is so much better!
Like I said in my post about the April Box, I tend to buy a creamier serum versus and oil. However, The Amazing Face Face Serum from The Granola Goat is awesome. It has a very herbal scent. The first time I used this serum, it reminded me of going to church because one of the ingredients is frankincense. I’ve been using it for the past week and it has really helped soothe and moisturize my skin.
In this box, subscribers received one of three Medusa’s Makeup products- blush, bronzer, or lip gloss. I was really hoping for the blush or bronzer, but I got the gloss. (I already have so many lip glosses and lip sticks!) The product is applies very smooth and is slightly sticky. I received the colour Siren, which is a shimmery, translucent coral-red. It’s quite a different shade than any other lip product I own. Swatched in sunlight (left) and my warm kitchen light (right).
The last product in the box was a sample size of Molly Rose Balms Grapefruit Basil Body Scrub. It’s a salt based scrub and has a very light scent. I found it to be pretty dry even though it includes a few different oils. I really enjoyed how soft my skin my skin felt after using it.
The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box costs $22.95 per month and contains 4-7 deluxe sized samples and full sized products. From my experience, a lot of what comes in the box is deluxe sized skin and hair care samples, which is good if you’re looking to try new things. Overall, I really like getting this box and feel like it’s worth the price.
