June’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box selection was awesome! I was really happy with the products I received and have been using at least one a day since I opened this box.
This month’s box included:
Ofra Cosmetics Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in ‘Laugna Beach’ – RV $19.50
Mai Couture Vitamin C + E Blotting Paper – RV $12
clariSEA Rapid Detox Charcoal Exfoliant – RV $3
pureSOL Konjac Facial Sponge- Bamboo Charcoal – RV $10
GLOW for a Cause Perfume in ‘Wish’ – RV $18
Devita Solar Protective Moisturizer SPF 30 – RV $5
I LOVE Ofra Cosmetics Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in ‘Laguna Beach’. It’s such a fantastic neutral, dusty rose pink shade. I feel like this lipstick doesn’t dry out my lips, but it also doesn’t last as long as other liquid lipsticks I use. It’s quite easy to remove.
Swatches of lipstick in morning sunlight, (left), and my warm kitchen light, (right).
I’ve never really used blotting papers before because I don’t really get all that oily. I used one of the Mai Couture papers after work the other night when I thought I looked really shiny and it picked up a surprising amount of oil, (Jason used one too and he was so oily that some spots were translucent!). I don’t know if I would invest in these after I finish up the booklet, but they’re nice to have if needed.
I’ve only used the clariSEA Rapid Detox Charcoal Exfoliant once so far, so there’s not too much I can say about it. The product itself is very coarse and holds up well when wet. I’d advise caution when using this because of it’s texture. Don’t want to scratch your face! Since I exfoliate regularly, I didn’t notice much of a difference in my skin’s texture.
I’ve been thinking about getting a facial sponge for a few months now after seeing so many people online using them, so I was super excited when I opened this box and saw the pureSOL Konjac Facial Sponge. It’s really hard when dry, but softens up so much when wet. I’ve been using it with my Pacifica Kale Detox Cleanser and my face feels so soft and clean. This sponge comes with a little hook so you can hang it up when you’re not using it. It’s also biodegradable, which is super cool.
I get slightly nervous when I get perfumes in beauty boxes because I’m slightly picky with scents. This GLOW for a cause perfume in “Wish” luckily has a scent I really enjoy. You don’t need to apply much of the cream to get a long lasting scent. It has a light floral aroma accented with white tea and bergamot. I really enjoy this product. I think I’ve used it five days in the past week.
The Devita Solar Protective Moisturizer SPF 30 was probably my least favourite item in the box. I feel like it’s a pretty basic moisturizing sunscreen. It doesn’t have a strong smell and applies pretty creamy. Being the most recent addition to my facial sunscreen collection, this product is going to have to wait a while before being thoroughly tested.
The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box costs $22.95 per month and contains 4-7 deluxe sized samples and full sized products. From my experience, a lot of what comes in the box is deluxe sized skin and hair care samples, which is good if you’re looking to try new things. Overall, I really like getting this box and feel like it’s worth the price.
