My July 2016 Benevolent Beauty Box

I was so excited back in June when I found out I won my July Benevolent Beauty Box. Winning things is always awesome, but winning an amazing beauty box made me the happiest girl! I received my shipping notification and patiently waited for my box. After a few days it still said the my box was in Pre-Shipping, so I waited some more. When it hit the two week point after receiving my tracking information, I e-mailed Benevolent Beauty Box and asked if they could possibly help me find my package. Rachel was so lovely and helpful. When she figured out that the box was lost, she offered me a number of different options to make up for it and I chose to receive a new box. Some of the items that were supposed to be in July’s box were out of stock, so Rachel offered to let me pick some items from past boxes to fill out the box. At the time, the company was also offering a free item promotion to receive a bonus item from a past box, so she included that in my July box as well. After all that, I got my July box and couldn’t be happier with the products or Benevolent Beauty Box’s superb customer service.

The products I received from the July box were:

Earth’s Beauty Shea & Aloe Lipstick in ‘Summer Quartz’- RV $15.95

Makeup Eraser Mini- RV $12

Medusa’s Makeup Electro Eyeshadow in ‘Electro Purple’- RV $8

Mirabella Mineral Highlighter in ‘Glowing Coral’- RV $40

My replacement/bonus items were:

Red Apple Lipstick in ‘Gypsy Soul’- RV $23.50

Red Apple Lipstick in ‘Plum Sexy Crazy’- RV $23.50

Trust Fund Beauty Lipgasm Lipstick in ‘Try To Be Nice’- RV $10

The Earth’s Beauty Shea & Aloe Lipstick is a really refreshing change from wearing matte/liquid lipsticks. This lipstick moisturizes as it provides a subtle hint of colour. ‘Summer Quarts’ is a translucent light pink shade with a bit of shimmer, making it a perfect lipstick for summer or a no-makeup makeup look. I loved how soft my lips were when wearing this, since I tend to wear lip products that dry my lips out. This lipstick needs to be re-applied pretty regularly if you’re eating or drinking a lot.

When I opened the Makeup Eraser Mini and the packaging boasted that it could remove all makeup with just water, I was very skeptical. After using it, I was completely blown away! This strip of polyester is magical. With just a little bit of water, it removes EVERYTHING, including waterproof eye makeup. It’s machine washable and will last up to 1000 washes. After taking off my makeup, I wash the Makeup Eraser Mini with a little bit of dish soap to get all the gunk off, wring out the water and hang dry. This is perfect for travelling or if you’re in a rush. I love this product so much.

This ‘Electro Purple’ shade from Medusa’s Makeup scared my neutral coloured makeup loving self when I opened the container. However, this is a really buildable colour and looks fantastic on. It is very sparkly, but in an obnoxious way. I feel like using this with a primer would provide a much bolder look than when I used it dry. I wore this shadow to work one night and received so many compliments. I’m excited to play with this product some more and see what fun looks I can come up with.

The Mirabella Mineral Highlighter is another product I received many complements on and is also slightly out of my makeup comfort zone. ‘Glowing Coral’ is a light coral pink shade with a bit of golden shimmer. I feel like a little bit of this highlighter goes along way because it has such great pigmentation. It’s not a product I would use every day, but it’s perfect for when you’re looking for a less natural look.

I’m thrilled that I was able to add two new Red Apple Lipsticks to my collection. The formula is amazing and lasts for a pretty long time. It does smudge when eating or drinking, but from my experience, it doesn’t come off completely. It has a very creamy, soft texture and leaves my lips feeling pretty moisturized after wearing. ‘Gypsy Soul’ is a brown/red with a light shine. ‘Plum Sexy Crazy’ is a red/plum shade, (that is pretty spot on to the actual skin colour of a plum), with a subtle gold shimmer.

‘Try To Be Nice’ is such a nicer shade for me than the Trust Fund Beauty Lipgasm Lipstick in ‘Obnoxious Request’ that I received in my May 2016 Benevolent Beauty Box. I feel like this shade has better coverage than the previous colour I had. ‘Try To Be Nice’ is the perfect light lilac shade. It does need to be reapplied often and has a slick texture. I’m so happy with this product.
