Petit Vour put together a really lovely box for August. Three of the four products are skincare, which is wonderful for me because I’ve been getting so much makeup in boxes of late!
August’s box included:
Lily Lolo Sculpt & Glow Contour Duo- RV $26
Formulary 55 Body Polish- Sea Minerals with Rosemary & Grapefruit- RV $7
True Moringa Lavender Facial Oil- RV $3, (full size $26)
Box Naturals Luxe Towelettes- RV $1.50, (full size $9)
The sneak peek product for August’s box was this Lily Lolo contour palette. I’m not someone who even knows the basics of how to use such a thing and the only time I ever tried to contour, I just looked dirty. I thought I’d give this palette a try and followed the instructions helpfully laid out on Petit Vour’s blog and used my fancy oval brushes, (like all the amazing makeup artists on social media use). Once again, I just looked dirty. Contouring is so hard! I may just use this as highlight and eye shadow or something. Unless anyone has amazing contour tips to share?
Here are the bronzer, (top), and highlight, (bottom), in both natural daylight and warm indoor light.
The Formulary 55 Body Polish is a really refreshing product. The blend of grapefruit, rosemary and salt scents are very relaxing. I chose to mix the polish with some water to make a paste and scrubbed my elbows and ankles smooth. The salt is such a prevalent smell when you’re using it, but it wears off pretty quickly.
In my first beauty box ever, (Vegan Cuts back in October 2015), I received the peppermint True Moringa Body Oil. I knew nothing about oils and was convinced that it was going to make my skin break out. I’ve learned so much since then and have come to use oils on a daily basis. This facial oil is wonderful. It’s thinner than the current facial oil I’m using, so I felt like I needed slightly more product. The scent is fantastic and very calming. This oil absorbs rather quickly and makes my skin look healthy and plump.
I personally didn’t use this wipe. My boyfriend came home one day with the stinkiest pits and since the product card that comes in the beauty box says that you can use this wipe in place of a quick shower, we decided to test it out. It did actually get rid of the stink, but it gave him rose scented armpits, which aren’t really his thing. The wipe itself is good quality and, prior to using, smelled great.
The Petit Vour Beauty Box is a vegan, non-toxic, cruelty free monthly subscription box. It costs $15 per month and contains four luxury beauty products per month. The products are mostly deluxe sample sizes. Petit Vour stocks the full sizes of the products included in the boxes on their website and they offer a really nice reward program for buying through the site.
