October 2016 Benevolent Beauty Box

The majority of the products included in the October Benevolent Beauty Box are totally out of my comfort zone which makes this box very fun to me. I love having products that I normally wouldn’t buy, (for whatever reason), to play with.

The October box included:

Ardency Inn Punker Eyes Like Fire Shadow- RV $21. This product is so creative. I love the idea of an eyeshadow pen. This product twists out of the tube and comes complete with a brush applicator. The shadow is very pigmented. It dries relatively quickly, so you need to be on top of blending it out or you’re going to end up with a tar black eyelid. I don’t see myself using this product often since I tend to go for a more natural eye look, but it’s great for anyone who wants to create a quick and easy smoky eye.

LaRitzy Eyeshadow in ‘Iced Malted’ – RV $16, (Vegan). This is a really nice product. The shade I received is a light silvery hued taupe. It applies smoothly and is very easy to blend. There is a nice amount of shimmer without being too shiny. I used it without a primer and it lasted a long time before creasing.

Medusa’s Makeup Maracuja Oil – RV $14, (Vegan). I’ve only used this oil once since opening the box, but I highly enjoyed it. I used it in place of my serum before bed and woke up with glowing skin. I’ve heard that adding a few drops of this type of oil to liquid matte lipsticks makes them less drying to the lips while still keeping the matte finish, so I’m going to test that out on one of my lipsticks soon.

Modish Polish Nail Polish in ‘No time for bullshit’ – RV $12, (Vegan). This 5-free polish applies rather thick, but the drying time is incredible. It’s the fastest drying nail polish I’ve ever used. One coat provided a great opaque colour, but I went with two just to be sure of optimal coverage. I adore the name of this shade, which reminds me a lot of Essie’s ‘Chinchilly’. I could see myself buying more of this brand in the future.

Tat2u Makeup Matte Lipstick in ‘New Generation’ – RV $16. This lipstick applies very smoothly and provides a highly pigmented colour. ‘New Generation’ is a lovely plum shade. It feels very soft and moisturizing on the lips. I have found that it transfers more than other non-liquid matte lipsticks I own, so I do need to re-apply more often if eating or drinking.

Tat2u Makeup Lip Pencil in ‘Hyper’ – RV $14. This lip pencil is the softest lip liner I’ve ever used. It feels like you’re drawing with lipstick itself. The pencil is very creamy and very pigmented. ‘Hyper’ is a slightly deeper plum than ‘New Generation’.This is a great pencil to wear on its own due to the amount of colour and coverage it provides. I feel like it’s a bit hard to sharpen because the wood part of the pencil is so hard and the product is very soft.
